There was no reason given for the Chapelwaite news, but it follows a ramped up trend. Over the summer, there have been rounds of cancellations and reversals of renewals across various streamers, including high-profile shows like The Peripheral at Prime Video and The Great at Hulu.

There will be no second season for MGM+ series Chapelwaite. The show's co-creator and executive producer Jason Filardi announced the news on X (fka Twitter), and Deadline has confirmed. I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand,  Filardi wrote. There will be no Season 2.
