For those who don't know, Betelgeuse is 👏 a red supergiant star that's part of the Orion constellation. It's 640 light-years away, which means that if it were 👏 to explode, we wouldn't even know it happened until 640 years from now. When it explodes, it'll turn into a 👏 supernova, which is essentially just a giant glowing ball in the sky. There are a lot of theories out there 👏 about if/when Betelgeuse will explode, but just because it's old and running out of fuel doesn't mean it'll explode anytime 👏 soon.
