Call of Duty (COD) is a video game series started in the early 2000s. The first 6 games are about World War II, but the series began branching out beginning with Modern Warfare.

But parents should know that there is an option at the begining of the game to turn down the violence and language setting. Still if you do that though you still will be able to shoot people and flamethrow them, ect. But there will be no swearing and no blood, gore, or dismemberment.
